Default New BFG R1S with older date code

Just got a set of R1S that I paid full price from DiscountTire. They were dropped shipped directly from BFG. Problem is the date code is 4512 (early November, over 15 months old). Would you ask to replace with a newer set, ask for a discount, or are they fine? I mean I know they are probably fine but to pay over a grand and get 15 month old tires is a bit annoying.

Maybe you can put in a call to TireRack, and ask them if they can provide you with their date code for these if you ordered now and compare it?

I'd imagine tire companies would move there oldest stock first just like supermarkets.

Maybe older units are sold of to discount companies?

Bottom line, I don't think they are too old and I would run them. But I do see your point.

Good idea. Looks like Tire Rack is shipping the same ones right now too...

As long as they were stored in a temperature controlled warehouse it's fine.

Matching dates is also more important than older dates.

Big gap in dates can cause the car to torque steer just as it does when one tire is low on air.

The size is 255/40/17

All the dates are the same so that's good. And I would hope bfg stores thier tires properly
