Default NT01 Noob

Hey all
I know some of you have been running Nitto NT01's and am curious about tire pressures and the initial heat cycle. I have been running RS3's for a couple of seasons and they seem to like 39PSI hot. Are the Nitto's similar? Also the Discount tire site said they were likely to last longer/maintain the grip levels longer with a proper first heat cycle. Any insight as to what the procedure is for a proper first heat cycle with them?
Thanks
Paul

I dont run them but Im pretty sure nobody heat cycles them and they are good til they cord. They just drop off a little after a few heat cycles. I think pressures are about the same as street tires, but it depends on your set up. I run less pressure than you do with my RS3s. The generic 36-38 hot should get you close.

Looking to find out, as I was an RS3 guy for track days and have run 3 days now with the NT01.

Love the grip and it keeps me competitive with the aero guys on street tires. Mechanical grip FTW.

I ran 27 cold and 35 hot on a square 255 set up and it seemed good. I will play with it next time up and down to see where the sweet spot is. I didn;t heat cycle mine, but heard the same thing. good grip til corded.

What wheel width do you run? My theory is wider wheels allow slightly lower pressures. Have you checked temps?

245 Square on 4 rear AP1 rears. -2 front camber 0 toe -2.5ish rear. Small rear toe in (can't remember specific w/o looking) GTC 200 on risers KW clubsports 10K all around Solid Gendron FSB on BB mounts. No front aero.
They are on the way so I was asking for a place to start out.
Thanks again

Ive used them off and in for a couple of years. I've never heat cycled them in other than driving to the track.

My target pressure has been 36-38 hot. As said above they are good till they cord. They are great first day then fall off as time goes on. I typically get 5-6 HPDE's out of a set with 4 or 5 sessions per day.

I start em off at around 31-32 psi cold. After a session, they will get up to around 37-38 psi. Like others said, the sweet spot for these tire are around 36-38 psi hot. I'm running -3.4 camber front, and -3 rear. The temperature spread across the tread is around 10 deg F hotter on inside vs. outside of tire, with center almost exactly between. Mind you, I am running 900lb springs front and 800 rear, so I'm not getting as much camber gain as a softer spring would provide. Try bumping up your front camber, if you can. Don't think -2 is sufficient for the nt01's.

I agree. I'm at -2 degrees currently on the front with NT01s and got excessive outside tire wear.
