OEM springs
It is known that the '00 &'01 S2Ks have the following:
Front bar (diameter/ thickness in mm): 28.2 / 5.0
Rear bar (diameter/ thickness in mm): 27.2 / 5.3
Front spring rate:3.9kg/mm (218 in/lbs )
Rear spring rate:5.2kg/mm (291 in/lbs)
It is also known that the '02 S2Ks have the following:
Front bar (diameter/ thickness in mm): 26.5 / 4.5
Rear bar (diameter/ thickness in mm): 27.2 / 4.5
Stiffer springs and new shock valving.
Is anyone aware of the spring rates for the '02 ? This would be a very useful piece of information.

I haven't seen any definitive numbers, and the only thing reputable Gregg Lee posted awhile back.....

As far as I can tell all mounts, and coil count and diameter of springs are the same.
Based on a field measurement in an autocross grid reaching behind the tire to measure the 2002 springs with a dial caliper, here are the differences, 2000 first, 2002 second, rate change third.
front spring wire diameter inches 0.455, 0.467, +11%
rear spring wire diameter 0.484, 0.458, -20%
front bar diameter 1.11, 1.01, -29% (bar rate change assumes same wall thickness)
rear bar no change
I have no data on shocks (dampers), other than Koni sportshocks adjustable are now available for $600 per set.
