Can anyone confirm the replacement spring size for the Ohilns DFV? I believe is is 2.5" ID, 8" length, but can anyone confirm this?

Thanks!

Correct. The size is 2.5" ID, 8" tall.

Source: just measured the springs.

I highly recommend anyone who has questions about the DFV contact Patrick at Urge Designs. He answered a ton of questions for me before I made my purchase and after.

Thanks Andrew!

Just ordered some 700lb Hyperco springs for the front and will put the front springs on the rear. I'll update on how the car feels with this setup after getting some time behind the wheel.

Me. I have spring rate tester and we had spring in there, did not measure same as it was stamped on it.
In same time we put one of the hypercoil springs I have around which measured same as it was stamped on it.

700 is fine on the front with stock valving for a track car. It is at the upper limit of the stiffness for a stock valving. I'm running swift 12k/10k which is slightly lower than 700/600 and I love it.
Swift 12kg is 728lbs/in - how is that slightly lower?

What changes did you note? Any benefits? Did it effect the way the shocks handle bumps?
kg/mm to lbs/in
-----------------------------
16 = 896
15 = 840
14 = 784
13 = 728
12 = 672
11 = 616
10 = 560
9.0 = 504
8.5 = 476
8.0 = 448
7.5 = 420
7.0 = 392
6.5 = 364
6.0 = 336
5.5 = 308
5.0 = 280
4.5 = 252
4.0 = 224
3.0 = 168
2.0 = 112

The stock springs were a bit soft for my tastes coming off a stiff tein setup. There was too much shock travel in the front IMO in turns (I have stock sway bar).
I had good control of the car and it was fairly neutral but I felt it could be better. For me it is a more direct feel and I can feel what the car wants to do at the wheels if that makes sense. Bumps are a bit stiff but thats probably because I have my dampers cranked up 4 clicks from stiff in the front and 5 in the back. BTW the swifts are lighter than the ohlins supplied springs. Didn't weigh them but it's easily noticeable in the hand (less coils). I really recommend the swifts. I have read on numerous sites and have heard racers swear by them. I do plan on revalving them when it's time to better match the sweet spot of the springs and broaden my adjustment range.
