Default Oil filter tech

I have always run the OEM filter since I originally bought my S back in 2009. But, I am kind of sick of being limited to one filter and today the local stealership was conveniently "out" of filters. Bad on me for not having one on hand, I know. But I would like to know what some of the other track guys think of oil filters and what some people are running.

Today I mainly wanted to just cut my filter open since I just dropped in an 35,000 used AP2 engine and ran it for about 1500 miles. I ended up just using a Wix filter for the time being from NAPA.

So, what do some of you run and what have been your results?

I've been using the wix 51344 filters since January without any issues. I enjoy the extra oil it can hold.

I just started using purolator gold on my other cars, they seem to be very good as far as filtration goes (from what I've read online). I used to use Wix in the past but they went downhill but are apparently back as of a couple years ago or so.
Stay away from Fram
The only thing I've run on the S is the OEM filter

I've been using Purolator gold on my cars for years now. I honestly don't think I've ever used an OEM filter for any car I've owned unless it was on the car when I bought it.

I use oversize oil filters on all my cars(bike to).
I use Baldwin filters and the one on my S is over twice as large as the stock Honda oil filter for the S.
Here are some pic's of three filters for the S, Baldwin, Wix/Napa and a Honda filter off of a '09 CR

If you want to get a Wix/Napa filter as big as the Baldwin filter, I think the 51182/1182 would fit. If you go with a larger oil filter don't forget you have to add more oil when you change your oil and filter.
