Ouch!!!!!
Russell, low pmi. One of the reasons the S2k is so responsive to steering inputs.
I wonder what you saw at Willow was the opposite of what you think. That is, in my experience, the s2k responds well if you keep your foot in it; the tq delivery is linear (no big bumps) that the car stays stable as you squeeze on the throttle. It almost sounds like he snapped off the gas. Trailing throttle oversteer. It happens so quickly in these cars, it's hard to correct.

Like midengined cars, the S2000 does have a relatively low pmi.

It also appears the front and rear wheels are of the same demensions?
The tyres are definitely mounted in the correct direction. It looks as if he turned in too early, and panicked when he got to a premature track out. Completely driver error. I did the same in an NSX a few years ago, mistakenly turned in too early, and ran out of road. I didn't spin like he did, but it was close. What saved me was experience (driving 911's), which is something he obviously didn't have.
Glad to hear that he made it out in one piece. A hard lesson learned, but the difference between an idiot and a non-idiot is whether or not he does it again. Everyone makes mistakes; but we try not to repeat those mistakes.
Cheers,
Brian.

Those rollbars are pretty damn strong, I can't believe they're virtually unbent. Maybe that's why the people inside the car are okay. Hope I'll never have to try them out for myself, but I'm sure glad to know they'll hold up to that kind of force
