I'll be putting in some Hawk HP+ pads on Saturday and autocrossing on Sunday. The guy I bought them from said they are VERY grabby and he came from an AP2 with Hoosiers I believe, so I dont think they should have much trouble overpowering my Toyo RA1's. I'll post back how I think they compare to the OEM pads.

I too was going to get the Cobalts when it came time for new pads. With all the problems being reported now though, and the HP+ coming up for sale locally at a good price, I figured I'd go with what I've used on other cars before with good success.
I wouldn't reccomend them for the street. I made the mistake of putting some on my Miata and they dust and squeel like there's no tomorrow. They work great for autocross but they're a headache to live with on a daily drive car. I'm probably going back to some HPS or stock pads soon and switch for track events.

Update on my situation: I took the Cobalt pads off and measured them on Saturday, and they are only about 2/3 of the way through the "wear slot". So the Ferodo pads that I ordered will go to another local autocrosser. We swapped cars on Sunday at the autocross and he says my car has "monster brakes".

I would agree the cobalts are "monster brakes" You just hvae to be willing to take the current trade offs.
