Possible best Hardtop for competition
I've held all 3. Prolenes CF mugen, Asuras FRP and my oem and they are not that much different.
Weight wise, they are all about the same. The CF mugen is at most 10lbs lighter. Tho its a 100x prettier! (Serious, its a BEAUTIFUL peice of CF)
I weighed Prolenes at OTC 03 on Longacre Scales to be something in the mid 30lb range. I don't remember the exact figure.

Only 5-8 lbs sounds strange though cause if thats the case the best way to go would be geting an OEM and replacing the rear window with plastic glass (like Macrolon)
That wouldmake it less heavy than the Mugen CF then!

Don't forget tho the mugen is a better design that does have lower drag. Also if you ever cage the car, you can move the forward bars about 1-2" farther out (away from your head). Because there is more clearance.

HT weight doesn't really matter to you anyway being that if there was a strong gale, your car'd be blown away.
OEM and Mugen FRP are ~44lbs.
Mugen CF 34 lbs.
Drag difference btw oem and Mugen is probably equivalent to ~1/2 sec on a laptime (if that), and that is if you are good enough of a driver. For 99% of the drivers, it will not matter.
Personally, I think the Mooncraft hardtop might have some merit.
Don't forget Amuse and Seibon

I'll be running in the S2000 CUP next year on Nuerburgring Nordschleife where we also have long straights up and downhill over 120 mph.
These will be 10 weekends of 4-6 hours endurance races.
So aerodynamics will matter. Especially because I might put a small rear wing for back end downforce so the better the HT aero is the better the wing will work.
@ asura: Any info on the amuse or seibon ?!
