Default Power Potential Combo

I don't know if this is the right place for this but I do have questions on times and performance.

List of potential build up Track orientated but straight line curious.

Motor
Toda Header
Spugen single titanium exhaust
Comptech intake
thermostat and switch
vtec controller with a/f gauge

Suspension adn support
4.57 gears in comptech reinforced diff
x-brace
comptech aluminum strut bar

Weight reduction
carbon fiber hood
carbon fiber trunk
spare tire and tool kit ( I measured 30lbs)
and weight difference in intake(I measured 5lbs with hardware).

Would this work well for a low 13 quarter mile and still perform well for auto-x use. Main concern is auto-x. What other items should I consider?

Thanks in advance for the help.

What autocross class are you building for? EM? Without the crossbrace, it sounds SM2-legal, but without a supercharger, you won't be within earshot of the pack.

I haven't been to the track meets yet to learn what class. I wanted to get started on some mods and that is what I had in mind. Should I leave something out? Or do you think the supercharger should be in the mix to be competitive. I have only had experience with drag racing at this point.

The only class the car has been proven to be competitive in is B-Stock. That means that only the exhaust and thermostat above are legal. If you want to be competitive, you should attend some autocrosses first, then worry about mods.

It would suck to spend all that money on mods only to find out you need a tube-frame chassis, 800HP and weigh about 1500 lbs to be competitive.

I am not to worried about the win. It is the enjoyment factor that I am after. I plan on drifting with the local crew more than I think I will hit the track but the auto-x has always interested me. Where could I go to find out the specifics for each class and exceptable mods?

Thanks
Chris

http://www.moutons.org/sccasolo/Rules/index.html

However, the SCCA Solo2 Rulebook + FastTracks is the authoritative source. This should get you close.

Thank you for the info. I plan on reading a little today to see where I can go and what I can do.

In SD, BS was 5.1 seconds behind ASP. BSP was 2 seconds back. Btw, never believe what your competitor tells you his horsepower is. A nationally prepped ASP Z06 is going to be well over 405whp.

Anyway, my point is that the car has not been proven to be competitive in SP. No offense (although I'm sure you'll take offense anyway), but 6 seconds back is hardly "putting a dent in the class." It also does not prove the car is competitive.

BSP would be hell out here on the west coast. It'd take a very narrow course to have a chance against Tom Berry, Rita Wilsey, Brian Robertson, Team NayKid, etc. I'd just as soon run against Gary in ASP.

Considering my level of experience (less than a full season), and the level of preparation of my car I maintain that I managed to put a dent in the class. The other Z06 that I beat was almost as prepared as the 1st place one and the 944 was a gutted trailer bitch. I also maintain that the car can be competitive with the right bolt ons and tuning (taking driver out of the equation).

I think the problem is that people jump on the "Car to have for XXX class" bandwagon and don't explore other possibilities. This closed mindedness is something that is something that consumes the S2000 community as a whole and is the reason why our aftermarket is somewhat limited. Even if you have a competitive car, having a pessimistic mindset will cause you to lose.

Cheers...
