public circuit racing
Hey guys I was curious if there were any Public Circuit racing events being held over here in Indiana anywhere or somewhere over in Ohio/kentucky. If anyone knows of anything, would you please inform me on the details? Much appreciated!
Best way to find out is go to the website of your closest race tracks and look for a "calendar" or "schedule" selection. The SCCA and NASA race at pretty much every major road racing circuit in America.
Thanks for the tips guys! I appreciate them all. (Going to sound like a noobie here but..) what does NASA stand for in racing terms? and aCab,you mentioned that it will be close to indianapolis around May 11-13, do you know of anyone that is going to be there?
NASA stands for the National Auto Sport Association.
You can find event info here - http://nasagreatlakes.com/season/?pa...&eventid=23693
Putnam Park Road Course is in Greencastle, IN. - http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&sa...ed=0CBEQ_BIwAQ
Off the top of my head, there will be two, maybe three s2ki members running in TT. Speedengineer and cuonice will be there in TTC for sure.
I've got a few other track friends that will be there as well - look to trackmidwest.com for more local oriented details (mods, feel free to delete if this is breaking the rules).
I will not be there unfortunately, as I'll be in Atlanta that weekend.

Yeah i looked into it and my gosh is it expensive to go racing on a track! I figured it would be like $100 for the day but it says 299-399! completely insane. Anyway, I really do appreciate the help guys. I'm still fairly new to the whole car scene and getting information about where events are being held at and where to find them. Also learning my way around an engine, I'm still fairly new to that as well. Takes time and time to learn though. So I'll learn eventually!

Also, the guys you meet at the track are typically super friendly, and a great source of knowledge. You'll learn a lot about your car as well as how to drive well when you participate in track events!
