Question for AutoX'ers
I'm ordering a set of magnetic numbers (getting lazy using tape) and it comes with letters for AutoX, typically what letters are used?
This would only be for some amateur level runs in either the local BMWCCA chapter or NASA proracing's if that helps.
any insight appreciated...

If you are running in the SCCA stock classes, the S2000 is in AS. That limits the modifications/upgrades that can be done to the car. If you have modified the car, than you may be in a "prepared" class. Here's a lonk to the car classification guidelines for SCCA http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/classes/index.html
Other clubs like PCA, BMWCCA, etc. run Solo I / autocross type events and if you can attend you will be in the "other" class, and will probably not need to display classification letters. You should check with the local chapters to be sure.

If you where running in our local SCCA org, you would use:
## ASR for A-Stock-Rookie. Your local club may or may not run a special rookie class.
Also, you should have 1## ASR, in case someone already has your number, or if you want to run a two driver car.
If you've made too many mods, you'll be in SP or Street Prepared (BSP?) instead of A-Stock. Examples of common mod's that would technicaly throw you into SP or even worse, Prepared (EP?) or Modified (DM?) classes
- Any non-stock-size aftermarket wheels
- Throttle body mods
- Stainless brake lines
- Any spring modifications
- X-brace
- Supercharger
- Etc.
So if you have two of A, B, D, E, P, M & R plus two of 1, # , # where # is your desired number, you should be covered!

Check with the SF region. Down here in LA we use 6xx numbers for visitors (serially assigned at registration during each event) and our rookie class is called "novice", no N required on car though. Buy a points card ($10 ? annual) and get a permanent number assignment.
