Default Question for those with KWs

I've been noticing the ride comfort is starting to suck. It is very harsh over bumps, crashes and jarrs over expansion joints. Not like what it was when I first installed it a year ago. It seems like its only the rear shocks though, the front of the car seems to glide over bumps nicely. The rears constantly make noise and I can see the top of the shock (the rubber part below the 2 nuts) move up and down quite a bit.

Has anyone else noticed a degradation in ride quality? It's so bad now that I know exactly what lanes to be in on the freeway to avoid bumps. I have the rear rebound near full soft , bump is close to the middle of range.

Try more rebound, less compression.
Leaks? Mileage? Could be time for a rebuild.

Didn't notice any leakage last time I looked there. Probaby only 5 - 7k miles.

Is it normal for the rebound adjuster and top of the shock to move in and out a lot?

You might have a problem with that rubber bushing up there, I suppose.

Not sure if it will help, but you might try *resetting* the damper by closing the valves all the way and then setting them back where they were before.

The shaft shouldn't be noticeably moving up and down...that sounds like a top mount issue.
