Suggestions on tire pressures when I first started was some of the worst I ever got. I tend to refrain from discussing my opinion on this much but can state 41 is not optimum.

Those are sky-high pressures for RS3s. Fine if you want a millimeter of contact patch.

I believe I adjust my pressures to about 29-30 psi on RS3's before each track session, so that on track they get to around 38-40 psi when hot (not peak but avg). I've felt less grip going both above and below that range.

I have found 36 to 38 to be about right. YMMV. You will be happy once you find your sweet spot

our next Auto-x event is coming on Friday.
the weather forcast is heavy showers and ~60 degr F.

does it make sense to put fresh RS3s or just continue with ~60%-70% worn R1Rs?

Run the R1Rs! RS3s suck in cold and wet. I love them in 80 degree weather and dry though. Used 4 sets of RS3s on my old STR car. They also take a couple races to "come into grip" so if they are brand new I wouldn't run them regardless.

I'm so jealous of you guys that are still racing! My season ends in early Nov and doesn't start back until March.

I never ran R1Rs but from what I remember they like both cold and are decent in water.

thanks Josh!!!
last weekend i went for a canyon run and it was quite wet - i indeed was surprised of R1R's grip in those conditions

on the other hand i was thinking "fresher rubber is always better"
