Default R1R or RS3?

hey there,
so far i've tried different tires (Z1, AD08) and all in all liked Toyo R1Rs the best.
i like their grip and their price (half e cost of AD08/Z1).
i'm OK with their tirelife, feedback and progressiveness.

now RS3 became available for the first time.
price is just a tad higher than R1R.

the question is - shall i switch to RS3?

i do competetive auto-x and small track sessions - so grip is important.
on another hand i use same wheel/tire on street - so tire life or tire's sholders life are important too.
if local RS3 are tw 200 than i won't get a handicap - which is a plus.
but if they grip less and it takes lot of time to heat them up (like AD08) then it's a big minus...

my tires are 245 all around.
with current setup i can't go crazy cambers - 1.8-2 degr tops.
so if RS3 indeed requires 3 or more - this will be a problem.

I personally like rs3 the best for the street tire category but that is just my opinion.

what about sholders wear?
on R1R with ~38 psi on hot and ~1.8 degr camber sholders are holding up very very good.

from performance point of view - is it reasonable to expect similar/better lap times with RS3? or wise versa...
in one of our competition series there is no handicap for 140tw tires so it's better to go for the grippiest ones...

They will always outlast R1R's and will tolerate track sessions far better.

While you probably will wear the shoulders first and more camber would be ideal, I bet you'll still get substantially more life out of the RS3 even with that. The RS3's are definitely worth trying at least.

RS3's are essentially 140TW tires re stamped to 200TW recently and they wear/grip well for a long time.
I have had R1R once before and I do not remember getting nearly the life from them.

thank you all for your input.

is a recommended tire pressure for RS3 different from other tires?
i usually put ~38 on the road, ~41 for the short auto-x and ~35 before going to the track.
