Default Race Clutch

My clutch is starting to slip, I'm sure all the rides I gave around laguna didn't help.

I need to get a new clutch, which sucks because I was hoping to wait till after the last honda-cup race weekend since I'll have the motor out this winter anyway.

None the less I have access to a lift and am just gonna do it, I'm within striking distance of 1st place (tho a bit of a long shot that I can beat derek at wsir) I'm not gonna let the clutch stop me from trying.

Anyway, I've currently got a comptech fly wheel and an oem clutch. I'm figuring I should go aftermarket since I spend almost no item actually "slipping" the clutch (stop and go).

Any suggestions for clutch and pp? I might do the fly wheel too for something super light. Tho the Toda is close enuf to the comptech in weight I wouldn't bother.

TIA,
-Ry

Take a look at the ATS carbon. This is the lightest weight flywheel, clutch plate, pressure plate by far. The engine revs extremely fast with this setup. The only drawback is a 3000 rpm buz.

I'm shoping for a new race clutch too.
Anyone had longterm review of the ATS Across carbonetic clutch?
I'm thinking if this well be a good combo with the Omni Power QCMC?
Here is the pdf link of the install instruction.
Require Pull to Push conversion.

I've had mine on for about two years now and I love it. When I first installed it, I used their lightweight flywheel version. It took a while to get use to the engagement without stalling, but once I figured it out, no problem. The engine rev'd so fast it was like a different car. The only problem with the light weight flywheel is a 3000 rpm buz. Because of this I switched to their heavier weight flywheel which cured the buz. But I miss the fast engine acceleration, so when I put my Laskey Racing built engine in this Winter, I'm switching back to the light weight flywheel.

Comptech flywheel is 1 lb. heavier than the Toda. It's true the Toda comes with no pilot bearing, but that bearing literally is an ounce or so.

You can also machine more weight out of the Toda flywheel for race use only.
Go with a copper/organic sprung disk, like the Clutchmasters FX300. The additional bite will make for lightning fast shifts (in conjunction with the Omnipower Quick Clutch mastercylinder), with better communication.
Personally, I prefer a less aggressive pressure plate, but that is completely driver dependent.

yeah 1 lb isn't worth the cost of replacing the flywheel right now.

What is the cost of the ats setup?

The ATS destroyed the transmission synchros on Karner's car.

Explain? How do you know the clutch did this? I'm going two years now with no problems. Then again, I don't track my car. But I am sending a lot of power through it.
