Default Race Start Theory

I know some cars I race with do this (most have a LOT more hp).

Do you think there is any advantage (and what about disadvantages?) to staying full throttle and using the brakes to maintain the cars speed?

It's a little hard on the brakes, but I do it (assuming a rolling start and good RPM's).
Depending where you're at on the grid and weather or not you can see the green, you can time it to get the guy behind you to back off as you get a jump.

yeah obviously not for standing starts

I tend to start on the first couple rows.

Not so much advantage on the s2 if you're already in the powerband. I can see this working real well on boosted cars since turbo engines love load. Just don't let the guy get a jump on you.

Hard to do when you have a 550+hp evo setting the pace. I almost always lose 1-3 spots at the start in ITE and usually make most back in the first lap or two.
