any feedback on the Amuse R1 bumper? does it generate downforce or just reduce lift and drag?

Not to thread jack, but I'm about to order an APR splitter for my S and was wondering if the oem ap2 lip will create any more downforce or is it just extra weight/looks?

ap2 lip looks like it makes downforce but there is no evidence. Wind tunnel info wasn't released on ap2 bumper/lip.

Many replicas don't copy all of the original...
...Meaning the radiator shroud and the under body for a front bumper.

They just copy the visible surfaces and call it good.
because they dont want to get sued by copying the whole thing...

thats how replicas companies kind of stay alive

I recently build a splitter out of plywood... I know I know, it's wood. But it was a start, so many people argue over what works and what doesn't, I figure i would just do it.

It sticks out about uhhh 3-4" depending what part of the bumper. Mounted it pretty solid to the car and leveled it off.

Then went on a long straight road and slalomed (is that a word?) at about 80-85. I didn't except to notice anything, but I did, it was pretty obvious on the return back to the middle of the road. I since returned and performed the same action without the splitter and there was a noticable difference. I have to assume this translates into performance increase on the track

BUT...... it also means I need more rear downforce, I have no wing.

just my .02

Not to bring up the old fashion C-West V1 bumper again but...

Here's a picture of pretty much the fastest S2000 in America...

And yes, they modified the old V1 to make it as wide as their fender extensions...

but damn

if you use something like the apr splitter...at what length should the splitter be sticking out to optimize downforce?

i'm guess a good bit sticking out and those stablizer bars are necessary if you plan on using for actual performance ( vs. just looks or protecting the bumper ).
