As usual, the S2K's always seem to do well at Redline Time Attack events...congrats to all the podium S2K finishers!!!

Enthusiast Class: 2nd Place - Ed Lee
Street Class: 3rd Place - Eddie Hsu
Modified Class: 1st Place - Jeremy Renshaw
Super Modified Class: 1st Place - Andre Hartanto
My quick writeup:

I had to do extra prep work for Enthusiast Class for RTA because I normally run Modified Class for the S2K Challenge. Some changes:
-Raise car to 3.5" ride height (LAME)
-Take off Voltex/J's wing and replace with CR wing (only OEM aero is allowed)
-Install fire extinguisher (LAME)
-Move catalytic converter within 18" of OEM location
-Throw on street tires (Dunlop Z1 Star Specs)
Arrived at the track after midnight on Fri night. Checked into Motel 6 (formerly Red Roof Inn). Smelled intensively of cow nastiness everywhere...the smell even permeated the motel room. For those that don't know, there is a giant cow "processing" plant off the 5 freeway near Buttonwillow.
Woke up at 5:30am on Saturday, grabbed some food and headed to the track for a full day of testing. I had an old set of RE01R tires I used for practice so I could save my Z1's for Time Attack. For some reason, the car felt really loose...I was fighting oversteer at virtually every corner. Became kinda scary, especially on the high speed stuff. Si Tang suggested that I take off my front splitter because I had too much front downforce. He said the splitter works well with a big-ass wing (like my J's) but will not work well with my tiny CR wing. So I took it off and it made a HUGE difference. The car was more planted and I could concentrate on driving instead of fighting oversteer. My laptimer wasn't working most of the day (and the RTA lap timers were malfunctioning all day), but I knew my lap times were improving. After practice, I went back to the motel and promptly passed out because I did not get much sleep the entire week.
Woke up at 5:30am on Sunday, grabbed some food and headed to the track ready for Time Attack. I swapped out my wheels with fresh Z1's on them and headed out to the 1st of 2 practice sessions in the morning. I knew the temperatures were gonna warmup to 80F that day so I wanted to land a good time in the morning so I could qualify up front. The fresh Z1's felt awesome...tons of grip and I managed to do a 2:00.8 which put me well ahead of all the Enthusiast Class competitors! I skipped the 2nd practice session because I wanted to save my tires. I did not do so well during the 2 TA's. Maybe it was the hotter temperatures, loud annoying music, scantily-clad girls, or nerves, but I was 2 seconds off my morning pace. I also mis-shifted in both TA's which totally screwed my lap times. The AE Performance 370Z edged me out by 0.5sec and I came home with 2nd place.
I'll be at the ACS event in May so we'll see what I can do then!!!

so how does the CR wing compare to the Voltex???
N1 Concepts s2000 ran a 1:54.8 to take super Mod RWD
It was my understanding that the AQ car ran a 1:56 during TA session #1..... good enough for 2nd behind the AFI S2000 in Mod RWD
At least thats what myself and several others on the Timing tower heard the announcer say

Ed: congrat on your 2:00.8
isn't ur car basically a street class in S2K Challenge ? or if you are in mods, how many point is that ?
if so, that's a f***ing fast time !!!!
Edit: did some quick math, so it is a 4.5 points car before safety mod ? or 3.75 point if you had a cage in it ?

You are correct about N1 Concepts...updated.
The AQ placed 4th I believe.

that's the question I had about them getting 4th
the announcer stated that the AQ car went 1:56......I remember this because we wanted to make sure the AFI car stayed out in front of AQ as they were our closest competition.
Also I believe that's why the AQ and AFI car went W2W in the super session because they were 1 and 2
oh and I have some shots of your car that i took...nothing fantastic but I will post later
