Default Removing the dash

So I pulled the dash tonight and am contemplating keeping it out. I know that I'll have to fab a bracket to hold the gauge cluster, but am wondering if anyone else has done this. Wondering if there are any drawbacks to keeping the dash out aside from the gauge cluster....

For now...but if the dash is gone whats the point right? Only thing Im thinking the dash is good for is the hold the gauge cluster...and to direct the air if you need to unfog the windshield (retaining heater core). I ziptied the cluster onto the metal frame the dash mounts to and it seems to work pretty well! I know it's ghetto as fawk but #becauseracer right?

Agreed. For HPDE do WTF you want but if you plan to compete you may need a dash depending on class / org.

Trying to get to 12:1 p2w...right now Im north of 13:1. Not sure how much power Im going to gain installing the AEM infinity and getting it tuned, but I doubt it's going to give me the 230whp with just an intake and exhaust I have now. Plus, I'd rather drop the weight than have to spend more money on power adders. Would like to not rule out ever running in HC either.

Doesn't HC require a dash?

H1 HC does NOT require a dash but it does require some sort of dash like covering, sheet metal, carbon, aluminum, etc. H2 however you have to run a factory dash that can be cut for cage fitment.
