It's a Catch-22, unfortunately -- more people need to join the class to save it, but people looking to spend $40k building a new car are unlikely to invest it in a class which may go away next year.
We need to average 2.5 entries over the entire season. I think there are about 77 national races total. So we would need to have 193 total T3 entries to make it to the runoffs next year. No one is going to invest in a class that could go away which is what we tried to get the BOD to understand. Now we are hanging on and we will make it only because there are a few guys like Ian and Peter and a few others who have stepped up and done what they can. The key will be the number of entries we can average in the northeast. If we can get to four will will be fine if not it will be close.

1:21.901 I believe the old record was a 1:22.2xx . I know Rob Hines did a low 21 in qualifying last year in the morning but with the race in the afternoon heat he only ran in the mid 22's. Our race was in 80 degree weather so I didn't think I could get her into the 21's and we didn't plan to put good tires on to try. Had we run fresh A's I'm wondering if a 20.xxx might have happened. As you can see in the video the car is still quite loose in the fast stuff.
Rene, I'm talking record for T3. It was Stan Wilson In a Cobalt SS back when they got a boost pulley.

Your lap was VERY fast. I only wish we could have a front bar on this thing that would make a large difference.... and get to pull the couple hundred lbs of dumbbell weights bolted to the floor out.

any pics of the interior of the car? i am interested to see a prepped s2k with the new rules that allow the removal of the interior. mainly because i plan to run this class when i am out of college and have the money to, as long as it is still around
