I need to know where to get a roll bar that will keep me stock, not break the bank and allow me to add a harness. I want to run @ thunderhill here in California, but haven't found a lot of roll-bar options. I need to make sure the mod doesn't knock me out of the the stock SCCA class at the same time! Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

There aren't any that you can buy right now that meet SCCA requirements. Your only option is to have a custom bar built to the specs in the rulebook.

 

Only Solo I (road-course time trials) actually requires a roll bar (and requires it to be built to certain specs). Solo II (autocross) does not require one, and I believe (someone confirm this please) it does not disallow any roll bar that otherwise keeps the car A-stock legal.

As SCH says, there's currently a bit of a drought in ready-made roll bars, so you'll have to find one used, or get one custom made. Note that a custom bar actually won't be much, if any, more expensive than a "production" bar would be.

Finally, if you can wait another 6 months to a year then the Elda bar might make its long-rumored, endlessly-speculated reappearance. But only the GoFast gods can tell you any more than that.

Well, that just about sucks! Anyone got a bar laying around that isn't spoken for?

www.thunderhill.com (track nearby my home) requires a bar for ANY rag-top. So I'm screwed 'till I find one.
