you are lucky that you got your car done by lcon tho... he is going to work for a well known porsche specialist. his cages are a work of art. theyre just not as easily accessibly or as accomodating as other bar mfg's.
Yeah, he told my bar is going to be the last one he's going to manufacture for the public. He told me he's pretty excited with his new upcoming job.

Does that work with the soft top?

So my car is ready after 3 months of agonising wait. After missing half a summer, forfeiting registered car shows and a track event I'm picking her up tomorrow...

I know this is random, but I am getting a custom NHRA 6 point cage/bar (basically a hard dog with door bars), will this be allowed for some light HPDE duety if I think I might want to try in the future?

About two weeks after I got my car back from the body shop, I took my car to L*CON. What was suppose to take a week, it turn into almost 3 months. After missing registered car shows, meets, and a registered track event, I finally got my car back last week. Even though it took Louie this long to complete the roll bar, the quality was good. He polished my roll bar and applied a matte clear finish to compensate the long wait of what should of taken a wk or so. Overall the roll bar was nicely done.
Louie told me my roll bar would be the last bar build/fab for the general public. He now works for a Porsche specialty race team.

If I were to do it again, would I go with L*CON ? Yes but only if it was done in a timely manner. Road Race Engineering was my runner up.
Quality work: Yes.
Service? Kinda slow but incentive was completed as promised.

Pics of bar during the initial build.

After completion. Louie text me these pics the night he finished. Overall, it looks nice.

Here are a few pics, more to follow. When I got my car back it was dirty, had some sort of residue, smudges and weird spots. Taken into consideration my car was freshly painted and wet sand, compound, and wax, the paint and color was flawless. I was pretty disappointed at the outcome. I had to clay bar and remove a lot of the stubborn residue with alcohol and terry cloths. I used some of the pics I took for reference, I didn't see any residue or substance on the car. Most of these pics were taken within a 3 month duration. The front bumper did have some residue and the work on the car was done towards the rear. Further more the area of the car where louie worked had no residue or smudges. Louie was hardly at the shop since he had a 9-5 job and his personal issue didn't really permit it. It's just kinda weird how these smudges were on random parts of the car. I just wish people had more consideration.

Louie was also going to have Alex from Ballade Sport do an oil change to compensate for the track event I lost. I also found out that Louie asked Alex if he was going to do an oil change on my car as promised. Alex had my hood open and told Louie, yeah. But when I picked up my car Alex told me he didn't do the oil change. Alex also tried to get diffensive and tried to blame me for my bar taking so long to be completed. He didn't even have his facts straight and still tried to make it seem like it was my fault. I honestly wouldn't take my car to Ballade Sport. I would much rather cut the 3rd party and take my business to the builder, tuner, or another facility that sells performance parts. So to sum it up, Alex lied to Louie, he told Louie he was going to do it and that's why my hood was open. Even though I didn't want a oil change done from a arrogant person he could of at least been straight with Louie. It's the principle
