No, you want to tie directly to the main frame beams. You can see where they run -- just inside where the shock mounts.
So im pretty sure I covered all these requirements , and the cross brace is not required its just recomended , they recomend alot of things for a ROLL BAR alot of things are not required just recomnded. I used 3/16 plates mounted to floor with grade 8 bolts 4 per plate each plate is 6x6. The tube is 1 3/4 DOM 1/8 wall which is over spec for a 2800 lb car but i think it looks better and is stronger. Im not saying this bar is perfect for everyone but its def overkill for what im doing and is definately SCCA legal according to this .
