Can anyone recommend a good way to get all of those damn rubber scuff marks off my car? You know, from the tires throwing off "snakes".
Snakes are usually from patch or seam tar picked up on the tire. "Rubber" wears off tires as a powder.

Anyway acetone will disolve it . Less than $5/gallon at Home Depot. Don't leave it on paint too long. And you will have to rewax.

Again, WD40 or bug&tar remover. Why rub your paint off?

GOO-GONE... yellow liquid in a clear bottle... find it at wal-mart and such. Trust me on this one!

Why rub the rubber marks off? The dirt and mud splashes cover them up anyway.

I found the best way to get them off was actually to wax the car before you go to the track. Odd yes but the fresh layer of wax will keep the goo from actually touching the paint, like teflon. You will get black marks but they will wash right off because they are on the wax, not the paint A pound of prevention...

Then I got lazy and didn't care anymore I think I have some birdshit on my hood right now but I will sleep like a little baby

I probably have about a pound of rubber and 3 pounds of busted insects on my car from the last few events, and I sleep like a baby too. Eventually it makes a car look meaner and faster, better than any bling, so worth about -1 sec/lap.

I think that was my problem. I just had the car repainted, so there was no wax on the car. The scuff marks were a PITA to remove.

Most of the solvents like acetone or goo gone are not clearcoat friendly. The best method I have found is using a claybar with very dilute soapy water as a lubricant.
