This is not really true. Believe it or not, autocrossing is really much harder on tires per mile than running on a road course. While you might only get 50 autox miles out of a set of Kumhos, you will probably get many hundreds of track miles of them... enough for a least a couple of track weekends.

You definitely get more miles on the track. Depending on your driving style, you can expect 400 - 800 on track miles out of a set of Kumhos, in my experience.

I have 2 autox (double driver) and a 150 road course day on my Kumho's. I think I have about half of the life left in tread. I also have put about 200 interstate miles on them. If you are easy on them (which I am not) they should last longer.
