S2000 CR in T3?
Not unless explicitly listed on the spec line.
"The Club Racing Board may classify any particular model of a
car, and may permit specific factory options for that car. Such
options shall be listed on the Specification Line for that vehicle.
No unlisted models or factory options are eligible. If no specific
model or options are listed on said line, the classified car shall
be the base model with no options."
Now, the CR might be an option package, or it might be a new model. In either case, it would need to be explicitly listed on a spec line.

I'm sure we'll ask but it probably depends on how the regular one does at the Runoffs.
In all seriousness, I have a hard time beliving it will be since they just added weight to the car AND took away tire. 2 things they could take away/give back to the car to make it more competitive WITHOUT adding more variables to the equation. ie another version with crazy aero crap.
Kind of ironic being that the name is Club Racer.
I know... let's ask for it to be classified in T2!!!
The car is ugly... but that's another thread.
edit... we could ask for the springs off the car

springs and body parts

If you think about it, those are the only things that make the car special. All the other crap you'd basically have to take off for safety reasons or you can find a better performing part. Dampers, wheels, interior bits, exhaust. You take the spare tire out anyway, you take the A/C off, radio parts out, etc.
I'd bet there's no way SCCA will classify it unless they get some prodding from American Honda. It just doesn't make sense to do it.
Did you ever figure out your ELD/AEM deal?

The Solstice Z0K was essentially created specifically for SCCA competition, so stranger things have happened.
Having said that, I agree with ellisnc that, since the regular S2000 got a large load of sand in T3 this season, the likelihood of the CRB letting a faster variant into the class without huge baggage seems very slim.

Several of us have just asked that the NSX be classified in T2 (which actually makes a lot of sense if you look at power/weight ratios) - take a look at what the SCCA had to say to that one in the latest Fastrack. But take a look in the GCR and you'll find a big Subaru advertisement and you'll see the reason why.
So when you think the SCCA will do the sensical thing, you usually find out your thinking was flawed!!
What I'm getting at is if the CR is in fact classified, I wouldn't be totally surprised. That Solstice is BS by the way. And I don't mean B-stock. It does make sense to make a stripped out car to make the entry cost of racing cheaper, but when the manufacturer goes and makes a competition only top (IN SHOWROOM STOCK!!!), makes special dampers, springs, ARB's tuned to the Hoosier tire and SCCA allows it. That's just unforgivable in my eyes. I mean, if you look at the GM press info, they "recommend" certain brake pads even. You know why? Probably because the ABS has been tuned for those pads and Hoosier tires. I've been meaning to check the ABS modulator part number on a Z0K vs. another base model to see if they're different just to prove my point. I don't blame them... As an engineer for another automobile company, that's what I would do too!
I mean, the Z0K is almost sanctioned cheating! SCCA goes on and on in Touring about the spirit of the class every time someone asks to remove the interior so it doesn't catch on fire - a really good argument in my mind. But they'll never approve it, even though 9/10 people are for the rule change. Then they allow the Z0K in showroom stock and after 100 letters asking the car to be slowed down, let the car run away with SSB last year at the Runoffs. The car doesn't fit the SS "spirit of the rules" which is why they stopped allowing trunk kits a long time ago.
I can't wait to see how much weight they tack onto the S2000 by the end of the season as soon as the car beats any Mazda...
Get ready for classification of the Mazdaspeed MX-5... should be any day!
