My buddy is at PRI right now and I had him ask the Quaife guys about this, and they said they already have a way to make their 6-speed H pattern dog box as well as their sequential work in the S2k using an adapter plate. And that they could build one with a bell housing that works if someone actually ordered it. Didn't seem like they were interested in doing a production run but that they could come up with a working product in about 4 weeks if someone really wanted it.

This is a 450hp solution btw, not sure if that covers the needs of someone like Rylan with the appropriate headroom, but they said they are working on a 750hp option.
My friend Steve stopped by their booth again, and they said to call these guys, who are apparently their new main North American distributor. http://www.motovicity.com/Default.aspx

They basically said if you want it, they'll make it, but they don't want to build one without an order for one. There isn't any demand for a production run given the cost.

Hrmmmmm... All of these Quaife, Drenth, PPG gearbox options are out of my budget. I would like to hear more about the gearset for our stock transmissions.

$4K is something I can stomach. $8-10K is wayyyyyyy too much for something that can only handle 450HP....

LOL, I think I am beginning to see why "rob!" is getting a supra now.

HAHA edit: why "rob!" bought a supra lol

its just too hard to put the power down in a s2000. not to mention the expenses. if someone could make something for 4k it would sell very easily.

Ok just finished talking to Stephen over at M factory. I need to send them a stock transmission so they can make measurements in order to give an accurate price. They will require and order of 10 units with 50% deposit to start production. We can make this happen and for those of you who really want this its time to speak up. I also dont have a spare transmission sitting around so im trying to source one So if anyone has one sitting around.

From what I can tell, the OP is only offering the dogs, gears, and shafts to convert your OE box. You still have to do the install, and it appears provide the bearings. And to even get just those parts at $4k, the OP still needs a good number of people to commit to ordering them. I bet you'd be in for over $5k if you don't do the labor yourself, which probably isn't too far off what a comparable setup from Quaife would cost complete. Not sure where $8k+ figure is coming from, that is what I have seen for sequential stuff, not H-Pattern. This stuff isn't cheap to make, and only becomes palatable when you can manufacture them in some kind of qty(spread the machining costs across a batch). Getting a manufacturer to commit to a production run of something that is selling in next to zero quantity currently is pretty difficult, especially in this economy.

the cheep Quafe boxes are aroud 3000+ British pounds which converts to around 5000+ us dollars. and thats for a 5 speed dog box price before shipping over seas, and before you custom make a bell housing, drive shaft, trany mounts etc. And the Quafe box that would be compared to this m-factory set up im trying for would cost around 8-10 thousand us dollars just for the case with gears and not all the bellhousing, and extra stuff needed to make it work. M-factory is local so it also makes it much easier to get replacement parts when needed.

$4,000 seems pretty cheap to me. Well if it's ready to bolt up.

Exactly. I looked up the 60G gearbox before I posted... And if I wanted to go with the Seq. 6-speed, they are listed closer to $12K (without the shift indicator). All those custom fabricated parts would add up, and I would still be left with something that isn't rated past 450HP (quoted from alvanderp)..

I just think there there should be a better fix for a pricetag that can get me a custom 2JZ swap (with the Getrag 6 speed, LOL) into my S. I'm down for a cheaper alternative through a proven company, eve if it means I have to get the gear put in by one of their "Approved Installers".

John: I have an AP2 tranny sitting in storage, but I am currently deployed and I won't be back until late March.. If you don't have anyone who can supply a transmission by the time I get back, I'll see what I can do. Until then, I hope you can get some people to join in on this deal, because I don't really see any better options out there (for me, or my budget, hehe).

Cheers,
Cliff

I know the Ikeya is no dogbox nor a real sequetial gearbox but they list that the product is available for the s2000.

Or did they never release the product

http://www.ikeya-f.co.jp/en/product_notice...hashu-shifter-e

EDIT:...oh well the last update of their homepage was 2009/30/06
