S2000 wins Street RWD at Redline Time Attack
Well, its Monday morning and I'm halfway between Summit Point and home in Michigan. This weekend was very exciting, and a very close competition. There were some impressive cars and impressive drivers out this weekend.
This is my first year racing my S2000, and I am very impressed with the car. This was also my first time attack, and actual competition, so I'm very happy with my results. During practice on Saturday, and practice/qualifying on Sunday, I was getting faster every session.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I didn't have ABS due to a bad wheel speed sensor that I probably lost a second of time to.
I ended up having a very close rivalry with the Cusco/Nukabe STi. They broke the bead on their NT-01 on the first day and ended up running their street/rain tire (Eagle F1-GS D3). Also a privateer STi and the JSC Evo 8 were within tenths of our times.
The wildcard DENT Sport Evo 2 came out in a different session due to gridding problems and laid a 1'42.049" that bumped me down to 2nd for Street class, but 3rd, 4th, and 5th were with in tenths and even hundreths off eachother that made for some hair raising fun.
Summit Point's new Shenandoah Circuit is amazingly fun. The 20* banked turn and corkscrew were very fun. This was my first time at the track, first time experiencing a high banked corner, first time without ABS, and second time on a track with large elevation change, so I know I could be absolutely faster with more practice.

I don't have all my numbers in front of me, but I will update later with some hard numbers:
Street Class:
Day 1 practice: 1'46.624"
Day 2 qualify: 1'46.4XX" (1st RWD, 3rd Street overall)
^ 1st Street overall: 1'46.2XX" private STi
2nd Street overall: 1'46.3XX" JSC Evo 8
Time Attack session 1: 1'45.317" (1st RWD, 2nd Street overall)
^ 3rd overall was a 1'45.386" by the Cusco/Nukabe STi
Time Attack session 2: 1'44.646" (1st RWD, 2nd Street overall)
^ 3rd overall was a 1'44.946" Cusco/Nukabe STi
Anyway, I'll try and write up more later, I gotta get back on the road. Special thanks to my buddy Tyler for towing my car to the track, the guys our shop, and all the guys at Redline for putting on a great event.

thanks, it was tough because it was my first time on the track EVER without ABS, I was quite upset. You can see it in the video. Now I just gotta find someone who can get this stuff off the camera and online.
