s2k or miata?
i live in MD and only track near me probably is summit point MD and the other one is VIR which is like 4 or 5 hours away....
i basically started a new job and i think i can semi handle paying parts for both cars... also get into it so i dont waste my money on drinking...lol
but yea i was thinking if i really should get a older miata because i heard they are pretty nice track cars... and if i have gotten the miata then i was going to drive my integra for daily driver and prob turbo it.
i am into fast cars but mostly i rather have little slower car and smoke the fast cars on the turns
heh
but thanks for the suggestions and where do i DL this regulation???
also yea if i do get into it i prob would get in first with my integra... then mod my integra a bit more on suspension part of it.
thanks for all the suggestions and the reason i asked here is because s2ki seems to be more educated about tracks because sooo many ricers in other forums not to offend... and of course IM OBSESSED WITH S2Ks.... DAMN IT

MXT 77 pretty much summed it up. I would simply put good pads/rotors/brake fluid on the car you have now and take it to a DE. If an instructor there has an s2k/miata etc try to get rides with them and have them tell you what they like/dislike about the car and who they race with. Once you have some seat time and lots of info I think your decision will become clear.
It really depends on the group you do DE's with and the track they use. You usaully pay a little more to run at VIR/Road Atlanta versus say Roebling Road as the costs to the sanctioning group are a little more. If you are a member of PCA for example you will get a discounted entry fee vs non members. You can usually count on 200-250 for entry fee plus food/hotel/gas etc. My tabs have ended up in the $450-500 range for the weekend not including the misc costs for the car ie brake pads-fluid/rotors/oil etc. You can plan on getting about 8, 20-30 minute sessions over the course of the weekend along with some classroom time. This has been my experience, im sure you can do it for more or less depending on how much you have to spend.
I usually figure it for about $500/day, including gas, expenses, wear items, etc.
This is a pay-to-play sport.
A miata would be less expensive to run than an S2000. Tires are cheaper, brakes are cheaper, car is cheaper, etc.
