I post this before, but still not clear.. Those of you into racing should know, after all there are much less "off the showroom" race-ready cars out there racing on Speedvision.. don't they have a class for roadsters, racing the Boxer, SLK, Jag, etc..is there a problem preparing the s2k for racing?
I read the article by L. Swann in the latest C/D, apparently he got beat by "stock" Camaros that were supposed to be Showroom cars, but turned out a lot faster. Obviously practising invisible modifications for over 30 years paid off..

The SCCA class for S2000's is "Touring 2" or T2. It still involves quite a bit of prep, and more or less renders the car undesirable for street use, as is the case with most "showroom stock" racing.
Once you've added a roll cage, racing seat, bolted-on hardtop, remove A/C and stereo and set up stiff shocks, the car isn't so much fun around town :-(
This is true for most showroom stock cars, but convertibles are more affected by the full roll bar and bolted top requirement than coupes or sedans.
