I have been getting into rally lately and was wondering if anyone has ever turned an s2k into a rally racer?

Oh boy. I also am very into rally. But something about the 5 odd inches of ground clearance tells me that the s2000 would not make a good rally car. There's not very much room in the fender wells, and I couldn't see that ending well. Plus I'm pretty positive you'd have an impossible time finding the right equipment to convert into a rally car. But it would be cool though!

 

Well, there are 911s for rally...

There was someone who did build an S2000 for rally a few years back, IIRC.

 

Not as crazy as you all might think... It's not an STi, and I guess it CAN be made to work, but that doesn't make it a good idea.

And people who shoot the idea down, ignore them... 911s have had successful rally careers too and they are arguably a worse idea to rally.

 

911's are a very good idea to rally, they have massive traction in the muddy stuff.
