SCCA NCRA cage integrity
Anyone delt with Rodes cages? I was looking at them and I can get a mild steel cage for 300$. Wtf. Is this too good to be true or some bs? If u have any cage or roll bar from this company please chime in. Thank you.

Well, it might be a step in the right direction from that Cusco you've been using .......
Your going to get lots of RockStar / HardDog comments for roll bars. A good cage is a whole nother level and topic.

I've never seen or even heard of Rodes before.
I think your making a lateral move. Sell the Cusco (I sold my Safety 21 for good $$$) and it more than paid for my used Hard Dog.

Are you going to have this professionally welded? I would not recommend you welding this yourself unless that is what you do for a living. Most cage failures are from poor welds. What do you want protecting you, your safety, and well being?
For the price of getting someone to weld the kit of tubes that you bring them from Rhodes and then fiddle with things that don't fit right or that you want customized, plus the cost of the Rhodes kit shipped to you, you may be at the same cost of having a cage builder do the whole thing.

Hmmm yes that's tru. I have a buddy that welds for a living and he was gana tig the entire thing. I want to keep the cage simple and light. I may just ask around around my local race shops. I was just very curious on the Rodes stuff.

I noticed that on the diagrams of the S2000 cage on their web site that it does not show a cage with NASCAR bars. NASCAR bars give a lot more room for the driver and additional protection in the event of a side impact. I know you said that you want to stay light, but you might want to consider them. Looks like Rhodes uses 1 5/8" x .120" DOM tubing, which is thicker wall than what SCCA requires for under 2700 pounds. You can save weight with thinner wall thickness. If your car is over 2700 pounds, 1 5/8" tubing would not be large enough diameter required by SCCA. Check the SCCA GCR for the cage requirements.

I would prob opt for the chromoly cage. And yes I'm over 6 feet and over 200 LB. I want the side impact bars as a double c that protudes out to the door for knee room. Maybe I can get a custom one made from them. Just curious on the company and if they have any rep.
