Hmmm, I just read on my renewal that the fees can't be deducted from my taxes so I assumed they weren't an NPO.

Yeah, they're not much of a charitable organization. Perhaps that's the confusion.

heh you must be new to scca. If you say you're gonna leave SCCA would do what they can to speed up your leaving.

IMO SCCA has more members than they want. They don't care much about what the members want. They want ratings more than members.

It's not for lack of trying. Many lot owners are worried about liability. Others are still angry over misuse in the past. Others are military and are not accessible to the heightened security. And thanks to the enviro-wackos, pretty much all new parking lots are required to have x% of greenery, making them useless for motorsports.

Solo2 is a big money-maker for SCCA (or so we want to believe). If they cause solo programs to vanish, the SCCA will eventually rue the day they sanctioned drifting.

I dont mind other people drifting at all, and would even suggest it to my competitors as a golden rule of autocross, guarenteed to take secconds off lap times.
