Default Seat back braces

So I've got Buddy Club FIA approved seats in the ap1, and a buddy was mentioning that in a collision, the seat might flex and cause more potential bodily damage than a stock one without a seat back brace. I started looking into them but they dont seem very specific. For those of you with them, did you have them custom made or do they make braces that are universal enough to be safely applicable?

I've only seen the brace welded on metal seats, I don't know how you would even attach a brace to a composite bucket seat.

I use the I/O Port which is a universal. You can bend the aluminum plate to best match the back of your seat. Some seats such as Racetech and Corbeau also come with bosses in the seat to bolt the back brace to the seat.

You only attach it if it has designed bosses for bolts. Otherwise you just have it braced against the back of the seat not attached.

If the seats are more than 5 years old most sanctioning bodies require the seat to be braced, even if it's FIA rated.

My only experience is with a Corbeau that, as Tut mentioned, already had the bosses in the seat.

Search for "brey Krause universal seat brace"

This will mount to the roll bar, and then brace the seat without drilling through it. Bracing required by most sanctioning bodies for seats older than 5 years

nobody I know uses those, doesn't mean you don't need it. But I wouldn't get that at this stage of the game.

With the solid bucket seats you shouldnt need it as long as the seat is FIA approved and what not. I'm kind of terrified of driving a car with a roll bar and a reclinable seat.
