Default Seibon TF-Style Wing

Hey guys,

I did some searching and couldn't find much info on the track functionality of the Seibon TF-Style wing.

Link: My link

Does anyone have experience with this spoiler or any more info on it?

I'm looking for a wing that isn't 3-4 grand and actually helps with downforce while racing. I like the APR's look but hear it is very flimsy and almost useless. ASM/Mugens are too expensivess

Thanks

It is functional, but not by much. It is a cr wing replica. It will help over nothing, but not as much as an apr 200 or 300.

Even though the apr 200 is said to flap at high speeds?

A lot of things flap at high speeds lol. You will get better answers if you post (or pm a moderator and have them transfer this to the racing and competition subforum). The guys there are more knowledgeable about functionality of parts, seeing as they actually drive their's. You will get better reviews there than you will here. This subforum deals more with street driven vehicles.

Thanks, I sent a pm for it to be moved.

I digged deeper and found that most people say the Voltex Type 2 is the best (less expensive) option out there:

Voltex Type 2

However, I have no idea if I want the gurney flap, height extensions, bracket height, or what wingspan I want.. (1,600mm or 1,700mm)

Seibon's CR replica (TF style) wing has mount cracking issues which Seibon seems to like to ignore. It tends to happen anywhere from one to three years of ownership. But you can always "upgrade" to the OEM CR wing later as the mounting points line up.

Thats what I used to run on my car. I think I'll be going back to it eventually as well. Great balance with no front aero.

Id recommend the 1600 with no gurney flap. Start at the 245mm stand size. We have 285mm stand available too.

Let me know if I can help you with anything.

Thanks,

Austin

I have a front splitter and a high mounted Voltex type 2. I have a gurney flap but i'm not so sure that it's absolutely necessary.

guess if u dont have much front aero, type 1 1500 or type 2 1600 would be sufficient. A higher mounting is preferred IMO.

No idea about GTC wings but my type 2 doesnt flap at high speeds.

I've run the APR GTC-200 wing, and it is extremely functional at a fraction of the price of Voltex wings. One of the fastest guys in MOD class for the S2K Challenge runs a GTC-300 wing.

For the price, it's hard to beat the GTC wings. A GTC-200 wing can be purchased for ~$650-$700, where as a Voltex Type-1S goes for about $1700 and some of the other Voltex wings for >$2000.

The GTC-200 is good bang for the buck and produces NET downforce. By comparison the CR replica wing you are asking about mearly REDUCES lift but does not do enough to eliminate all lift and produce NET downforce - it's definitely an improvement over wingless though.

If you can afford it and your racing class/points allow you to run some of the bigger Voltex wings - do it. If you're on a budget, the GTC-200 wings will suffice and are a huge improvement over stock/wingless.

I have run the APR GTC-200 for over 4 years now. I removed the wing for a TT (needed the points) and ran a full 1.5 seconds slower. The GTC-200 is very functional.
