What can I do to shed serious weight? Haven't seen anything for a full on race weight reduction build yet.
How can I shed more weight? Cutting panels, replacing body panels etc...

Most competitive events (all competitive events) have rules that limit the modifications. Then some events have their own needs. An endurance race may need headlights and longer wearing brakes. Most road racing also takes place in the rain, so the wiper and some sort of interior ventilation are necessary. Racing a closed car on hot days often needs some sort of coolsuit system and forced air helmet ventilation.
There are lots of stiffening parts for available for the S2000. All add weight. Depending on the rules, track, tires/suspension/engine different parts would be necessary. At some power level the differential, half shafts, and transmission need to be replaced.
Performance at speed is affected by aerodynamics. Andrew Brilliant, a popular freelance racing aerodynamicist out of Yokohama, says he can get near prototype levels of downforce (not many Time Attack cars have 2-element rear wings) and that cooling accounts for 1/3 of all drag. Are you planning a full aero setup? A complex splitter and flat bottom add weight.
- Remove the EVAP system
- Cut out the door bars and most the skin in the stock doors besides what is needed to hold the window pinned in.
- Cut out tool trunk area (about 5lbs)
- Vented rear brake like Urge
- AP racing Front brakes
- exhaust stuff already mentioned
- hardtop have glass or lexan rear window?
- down-force front fenders.
- APR mirrors
Thats a short list of bolt on and slight cutting options I can think of in about 2 min.
No real constraints. Objective is to compete in Unlimited RWD for GTA. I want to theoretically get the car as light as possible. Eventually will be adding a S/C kit and hope to get it around 500WHP. And when doing so want to loose a lot of weight. (When power comes so will more downforce and a BBK)
