Setting up car for BSP
Need some help on tire choices guys. I am setting up my car for BSP class, mostly for fun. I like driving my car hard and playing with modifications so I'm not worried about being competitive in A-Stock just want to have fun and spend some money...
Setup this first year is going to be mostly stock. Koni yellows on all 4 corners, with stock springs set on the lower perch = 1/2" lower than stock. Saner bar. I'll start with a typical autocross alignment, so camber should be around -1.5 in front and -2 in back. I will use an extreme summer performance tire at first before considering going to an A6 or V710.
I want to run a staggered setup and found some new light weight wheels I want to use:
Front: 17 x 7 +49, weight 14.7 lbs
Rear: 17 x 8.5 +59, weight 15.6 lbs
Now, from reading as much as I could, seems like 245/275 front/rear has been a popular staggered setup in A-Stock. It seems the 245 in front has seen some minor rubbing but with this setup, I should have 6mm more clearance in the front since the offset isn't as high? Also, I should have the same extra clearance in the rear?
Will this rubber work w/ these wheels and the 1/2" drop from Koni? Or what would you recommend instead of these?
245/45/17
275/40/17
If I want to go lower than the Koni / Stock Spring drop, what size tires would I need to be safe? Say I wanted to drop 1.5" from stock, what size rubber would you put on these wheels? Minor modifications acceptable but I don't want to roll my fenders...
Thanks guys!

Aren't most guys running 285/295 30/18 A6's?
The 295 is a little bit tall... good for higher speed courses though, and i've thought about getting another pair of wheels and having them mounted with the 295's in case i could use the extra speed....
But so far for me, the 285 seems great, but running a tire that big or bigger pretty much makes it mandatory to have a co-driver along for the ride with you if you want any sort of temperature in them for your runs...
But stepping up to sizes like Rodney mentioned is probably where this mess is heading, even for myself... thats why i went with such a wide wheel, so that i could slip on the wider tire without pinching it... right now i'm slightly stretched with the 285's.

I would buy the biggest wheel width possible that I could get to work. I'm afraid you will have to do some fender rolling with stock springs in order to get the bigger tires on.
I would consider buying 4 of those rear sizes and get them to work with some 275/275 or 275/295. I wouldn't cut any corners, so Im also going to recommend some stiffer springs. That will be much cheaper than the sway bar you will have to buy to keep the tires off the fender.
The Koni Yellows have pretty soft compression and even with the rebound all the way up, you will have rubbing issues. You also don't have to use the bottom perch to lower the car. The Konis allow you car to settle more than the OEM shocks.
You will have 6mm less clearance with the fender with a 49mm offset.
