Default setup help

I was hoping some of you more experienced racers and setup folks could give me some advice. I've made some big changes to the car, from previous setup, and need a good starting point to try and work from. What I've got is as follows:

oem AP1(no additional power)
2550 race weight
1 1/4in hollow Gendron bar, no rear
245/40/17 Hoosier R6 all around
Tein RA coilovers(they were cheap and let me shed some lbs for my class, and if they're that bad I'll change after I try them)
APR GTC300

Alignment???
bar setting???

RoadRace or Autocross

I would go for no rear bar and the front on medium
How high of spring rates can you go with the Teins?

I would stick to springrates that are even front and rear and tune from there with the front bar. Most racecar's end up in the 900lb range.

That's with -4 camber front and -2.8 camber rear.
Toe is zero front and 3/16 rear
Castor is whatever I can get.

tein RA's are 559 spring rates... that is exactly what I have on my car..

I have Tein Ra's, no rear bar and a Saner on the front set on medium. I run my RA's on the highest / stiffest setting except in the rain.

i have adjustable ball joints on the front and run -3.6 camber... rear i think is maxed out at about -2.6...

on the East Coast I have been extremely close to HC1 track records at most courses (Vir North, Summit, Beaverun, Summit Shenadoah)... so my set seems to work okay for some part of the race....

i do have the F22C so my car has weighed 2675 at the end of each race....100lbs more than F20C.

Road racing, Thanks guys. My hopes aren't too high with the RA's Scot, but I'm glad you've had success with them. H1 sucks down here in the SE, I'm probably moving to PTB for good now.

I forgot to mention that I also have the camber kit on the front now. Is 4 not too much for these "soft springs" and only 245 tires?

i thought at some point i was at -4 but didn't like it. the west coast guys all say higher spring rates.... when a pro took dave karners car out though he thought it was too stiff.....so... based on that i have not changed my springs...

yes...hc1 sucks for mid atlantic as well, so i am thinking about lightening my car as much as i can and going ST2...i need to add some power though..... i am cheap but supposedly a used SC is $3k...so that may be an option.

goodluck with ptb....wouldn't you be PTA?

o ya... i currently have 235.40.17 front R888s and 255.40.17 rears.....

not sure how a 4 wheel 245 setup would be...???

Not PTA unless they've given me an incorrect ruling on specific parts.

base PTD +14
Hoosier R6 +10
245's no points
header +2
exhaust +2
test pipe +1
Tein RA +3
springs +2
swaybar +2
SPC camber kit no points
bsk +2
APR wing +5
leaves +16 for weight which means my min is 2566lbs
total is 59 = PTB

You might fall into PTA, though I'm not sure with the 2.2 and aem.

You wouldn't happen to know what your fender height is, from the center of the wheel or from the ground? I'm trying to get an idea of how low I can go without suffering from being too low. The Tein instructions I got don't list any limits.

Does anyone Run in PTB in your area? The PTA PTB thing in the Mid Atlantic is pretty lame 1-2-3 car fields, the same as H1.

I picked ST2 for the last 2 races since they actually had a handful of entrants..... I was faster than a couple but got smoked by a couple Z06 vettes....and STI's and Evo's.... they were all on hoosiers and way outpowered me but....

I don't know the fender measurements... i do know my car seems awfully tall compared to most but i think if you go too low you have bump steer problems (or something like that).

what about a VAFC... do they charge for that? Get it tuned and you may have a reasonable increase in power?
