Smoking Brakes...
During some agressive driving and breaking this weekend my back brake pads were smoking heavily at a red light - hadn't ever noticed this before.
I've been considering some racing pads (I do autocross), and have read a few threads previously about aftermarket brake pads. My questions is, can anyone give me a brief synopsis of the types of pads, and what to look for? I'm not asking the dumb, "What is the best brake pad?" question - I just want to know more about them.

I had the car at the Jefferson Circuit at Summit Point for 20 minutes of hard driving. The rear brakes were really smoking. I replaced the brake fluid with Racing Blue. With such small brakes, I was not surprised. Who makes decent pads for these cars?
I ran 3.5 hours over a very warm weekend last year at the Jefferson circuit with no problems. Some of my sessions were 45 mins of very hard braking. I was using ATE superblue brake fluid.
The pads were worn out and cooked by the end, but the braking ability was strong throughout the weekend. The wheel temperatures were very high, in excess of 400 degrees F, but never had any smoking.

The smoking came after a 144 - 0 MPH, then a 135 - 0 MPH at the next light. Not screeching haults, but decent braking. I think they wouldn't have kept smoking if I let off the brake at the light.

Well, my brakes were smoking. I normally drive a 911 and obviously it has awesome brakes. The S2000 pads are much smaller. I had the same problem with my Type R at Jefferson, only it was the front brakes. Anyways the new fluid seems to do the trick.
What pads have people tried?

[B]Except for the dust I am very pleased with the Porterfield R4S pads as a street / track compromise. Decent wear and good friction level, but a little noisy at times.
The stock pads are great for the street, but get a baked surface at the track so stopping is not as good and pedal effort goes up.
