Spoon front & Rear fenders Wheel selection

If he stuck to 18 he could do 285/295 stagger on those widths.

All that glitters is not gold. Not quite sure why any of these fenders are needed for a track only car, people have fitted 315 just pulling and rolling...but this is a video where the Spoon fender is trimmed to fit a 255 tire.
To me, the process here is backward...starting with the fenders. What events, what rules, what budget?

There are no rules for lapping days. If OP is getting into competition with rules, then this entire thread is void and he should start another asking what the max size tire he can run per class of competition he plans to run in.

255/40 ideally for overall diameter. but isn't an upgrade over stock fender fitment. You could do 275/40/17 but now your getting into a tire that is substantially larger overall diameter then stock and may likely give you some fitment problems up front unless you staggered with a 255. More ideal would be to run 18's and get into the 285 -295 section width which will also maintain overall diameter balance. This will require a different wheel choice though.
