Default Stock Alignment Capability?

Just curious, on AP2's, how much camber/caster/toe have people been able to achieve w/stock suspension components? I tried searching but the search is F'd, and I didn't find a ton of what I was looking for. I ask because the max neg. camber I was able to get up front was 1.2. GRM just ran an article that said in stock form S2K's are able to get 1.5+ degrees. What is everyone seeing w/their cars?

I have -1.8 up front. How much caster do you have? You need to back the caster off to get that much camber.

I'm guessing that might be the case. This was solely a camber adjustment, didn't even touch the caster bolts. Do you miss the caster? Even by just adding the camber, I feel like I lost some caster; steering doesn't feel as heavy/direct as it did. I don't really notice anymore, so maybe it's not that big of a deal.

No, I don't miss the lack of caster. It is in the range of 5 something, down from 6 something when it was at factory specs. The shop that did my alignment loosened off the caster adjustment a bunch, dialed in the camber I requested, then added back as much caster as possible.

Sticking/frozen bolts in the bushings limit adjustment, too. Make sure they turn freely...

have an ap1. my suspension is 100% stock. last alignment i got at West End (best in so. cal.) was:

front:
camber = -2.3
caster = +6.0
toe (in, total) = 1/16"

rear:
camber = -2.8
toe (in, total) = 1/4"

seemed to work well at streets of willow.

Most stock legal S2000s with healthy bushings and no bends in the arms can't get -2. I would guess -1.7 is average out of the drivers front and -2 out of the passenger front. After some potholes, railroad tracks, curbs, etc. you can get as much as you want! lol My '05 got about -1.5/-1.8 and the CR got -1.7/-2.1 when they were new. After the '05 got to about 20k miles and 3 years old, the suspension would flex more when I loosened everything up. As a result I could force over -2 degrees before tightening everything back up. The CR is about the same after 4k miles and 6 months.

Sounds like you either have a very healthy suspension or the car has had something bent. A good custom alignment guy can get to the root of this for you. Good luck.
