Default Stock stoptech pads adequate for CMP?

Are the pads that come with the stoptech bbk adequate for CMP?

I don't want to bed in the rotors with the pads that came with the kit only to find they'll quickly get chewed up at CMP.

If the pads that come with the kit aren't adequate, which dual purpose pads have people had good experience with?

Prior to the bbk, I was changing pads/rotors before and after every event. I was running xp10/8. I'm hoping the bbk will allow me to run a true dual purpose pad.

cmp is a ****er on brakes I'd be interested if your BBK helps
I've tried xp10/xp8 and xp12/xp10

ducts and about 4 different fluids (including castrol SRF) and I have always driven home with a soft pedal

usualy crack a rotor too

I'm guessing CMP is very tough on brakes. They MIGHT be okay, but probably have a very high wear rate. Those pads are primarily street pads with light track duty.

I'd be safe and go with a more track oriented pad. I used Ferodo DS3000s at Buttonwillow in 97F heat with no issues at all. So those are roughly the equivalent of XP8s I think.

I did use the Stoptech pads at Streets of Willow in 65F temps with no issues, but that track is relatively easy on brakes.

My guess is that they'd hold up, but have a high wear rate assuming that CMP is that hard on brakes. If the weather is cold, it would help.

Ferodo 3000's might be worth trying but 2500's are definitely not enough

CMP is VERY hard on brakes. With stock suspension and RE'11s I went through a set of XP10s in basically one day.

I wouldn't mind running the xp10 or similar all the time, I just can't handle the squealing. The noise was ridiculous on the street with the XP10.

Are the pfc97 loud?

the only time I ever had bad squeal from carbotechs was when I put them on rotors after stock pads

now I only run CT I don't get squeal but I don't drive it on the street much

Interesting, I had dedicated rotors for the carbotechs and the noise was ridiculous.

Wow... as set of XP10 in ONE day?! I would consider using XP10 then with the BBK, they should just last a lot longer. Are you running ducting also?

For brake pad squeal, I generally just use a good amount of high temp caliper grease on the pad backing plate and that solves the majority of squeal issues.

I didn't have any ducting, so I'm sure the xp10s would've worn much better if I did.

I tried the anti-squeal grease, but it didn't seem to make a difference..

I've decided to run ducting with the bbk. Consequently, I may be able to get away with a relatively mild pad.

I wouldn't rely on ducts I have ducts and still suffer brake problems at CMP.

I killed a set of XP10's in one day at CMP b4 with ducts but I think part of it maybe they weren't bedded right
I get pre-bedded now

if you do get ducts don't get the 2" whatever kit like I have its rubbish you need 3" or more!
