I'm hoping without silencer it's below 100 dB and with silencer it's around 93 dB...
Mark Melchoir's car had the Litespec exhaust at nats.

Nice, thanks! In case anyone else is interested I just checked the sound results for Mark Melchior's car, they were 95.4,94.8,97.4 (Nick) and 96.8,95.1,95.7 (Mark)

So it's getting close but should be fine for national events, and definitely with the silencer in should be fine I would think. Now I wonder how much the silencer does...

Front piece is 10 lbs. Not sure how loud it would be with just a down pipe.

I'll update this as to quality of fit after I install it.

I ran without the silencer for nationals. I actually drove to nationals without a silencer, and I don't really recommend that. Locally I used to run with the silencer in, and depending on the weather and location of the sound meter I was in the 90-92 range. Probably a little tight if you have a 93 dB limit. I would fab a turndown in case it was cold, or the meter was a little close to the course. With the silencer out, I usually around where the readings from natinoals. Although, the last summer series event we had was a very cool day, 40ish when I ran, and I hit 100.7 dB. I think it was when I hit the rev limiter, it was a crazy fast course and the previous runs were around 97 dB when I didn't hit the limiter, so it was an abnormality. Either way, it would again be a good idea to have a turndown just in case.

Super helpful, thanks . Do you feel a power difference with the silencer in/out? I can't imagine it'll make much of a difference since the exhaust is pretty over sized. Also I'm assuming you have some sort of intake, header, and high flow cat?

It feels like a very minimal amount at high rpm, but I've never dynoed with/without silencer.

And yes, I have K&N intake, PLM header, and Berk 70mm HFC.

Does anyone know where I can get a silencer for my T1R 70r? The tip is 100-104mm wide. It's odd its not perfectly round, I just realized that when I measured it.

Edit- Call AJ-Racing and they had one in stock. $55.00 plus shipping. Dave Roberts will be very happy to hear I ordered a silencer. HaHa

They have one that will fit the T1R 70R? I need to look into something for mine once I buy a header and cat this winter. Does it fit the "dolphin" tip (turn down)?

yup! If you want I'll take a pic of it when it comes in if you'd like. I'm not sure if they make one for the dolphin tip though.

What muffler have you used on a single to get below 93 dB? 91 db or lower is the actual goal.

After installing CAI/Header/HFC my cut/down pipe exhaust is hitting 97 dB as measured at 2011 nationals. It used to pass at the San Diego Tour which is 93 dB. I now fear my full single which uses a second OE resonator as a muffler will not meet 93 dB.

I know some have mentioned Flowmaster, but which specific muffler (model)? What other mufflers besides an expensive two stage stainless light weight racing muffler?
