Chase Race hitch, and after-market dual exhaust.

I have a Chase Race hitch, and was installing my after-market dual exhaust. It's a Tsudo, but, could be Invidia, T1R, etc.

Well the exhaust now blocks the front mounting point for the hitch. Has anyone done a mod of their hitch for this?

I was thinking maybe going back straight from the mount then angle down.

I'll call Chase Race on Monday, and ask what stock they use for the hitch itself or if they have a ready made solution.

I looked a Curt Hitch, but, leaving a 38 lb hitch on the car defeats the weight savings of the after-market exhaust.

Trying to keep the car dual use just gets harder and harder.

I had a similar hitch to the Chase and rand into this when I got my Invidia cat back. I tried cutting the bracket that had their logo on it and it still was too tight. So I took it to the person that made my hitch and he altered it by making it have less of a dip (closer to the car) and it worked like a champ!

I tried getting one from their site and the HFC page was blank. I sent an e-mail hoping that I can still get in on this deal.

After installing CAI/Header/HFC my cut/down pipe exhaust is hitting 97 dB as measured at 2011 nationals. It used to pass at the San Diego Tour which is 93 dB. I now fear my full single which uses a second OE resonator as a muffler will not meet 93 dB.

I know some have mentioned Flowmaster, but which specific muffler (model)? What other mufflers besides an expensive two stage stainless light weight racing muffler?
Rob,
I don't think any single muffler setup will net you below 93 dB. My setup is consistently under 93 dB. Usually pegs the meter at 91-92 dB. Should be totally safe for Qualcomm.

I'm running CT Intake, Berk Headers, Berk HFC, Greddy Ti-C 70mm.

Just so you guys know, when I was in ST my civic would be in the 88-90db range at nationals but at home in Qualcomm it constantly read 91-93 border. I would highly suggest trying to get sound down in the 80s range before coming to SD. We have had plenty of competitors come a long way to be DQ'd by their 2nd or third run.

Well I've been running the silencer for about 1200 miles and I have bad news. At first I really liked it. It quieted the car and the girl friend was very happy. The silencer mounts with only one bolt and started vibrating after about 600 miles. I got a chance to mess with it today and realized the back pressure from restricting the exhaust caused the whole tip to come lose and move around on the rivets. The noise drove me crazy and I felt embarrassed sitting at stop lights with people looking at me wierd because my car sounded like ass.

Today I put the car on jack stands, took off the rear bumper and drilled out all the rivets. I replaced them with all new rivets and now the tip is held in place again. The reason I'm posting is because I'm wanting your opinions on if I should drill 2 more holes in the tip and have 3 bolts/mounting points holding the silencer in place or should I suck it up and just deal with the vibration and only run it at events that have sound restrictions below 97db. I'm concerned with the extra holes causing flow issues or something.

If it were me...
For the National events... I would run it without the silencers, but be ready to add it if/when you get your warning.

For the local events that have a much lower ceiling, I would just go ahead put it in before going to grid.

Yea national events I won't put it on unless I get a warning, locally I'm not putting it in unless it's really hot out or if we go to pjcs. It robs power, I can tell a difference. I'm not about to run it unless someone starts crying about it.

In cooler weather its been as quiet as 82db, although in warm weather I've hit 97.4db.

So how much of a restriction is the stock exhaust? I'm looking at picking up a header, intake and HFC, then having the car tuned. I don't mind the look or sound of the stock exhaust so I'd like to avoid buying something aftermarket if possible, but if it's going to rob me of a bunch of power during the tune I'll try and find something that will work out.
