I went in the opposite direction on front tire size. These are the driver's side tires after 25 runs on a ~48s clockwise course on very smooth asphalt.

Bridgestone 255/40-17 rear/Bridgestone 255/40-17 front

The setup seems to be working at least reasonably well, though I haven't run against any national competitors yet.
Do you have any pictures on the car? Isn't there a fender interference problem with 255/40 tires on the stock 7x17+55 front wheels? Interestingly, the footprint looks similar front/rear even though the wheel is 1.5" narrower.

Ordered a set of Rival-S 245/40s AND 245/40 RE71R for the front and RE71R 255/40 for the rear.. Jed Peterson and I are going to be jointly testing this new theory at Nationals. My driving could probably use some upgrading more than my tires, but that doesn't mean I can't pick up some extra time in there

Alignment settings: (all new control arms/bushings mind you)
Front Camber: -2.0
Caster: Max
Toe: 0
Rear Camber: -2.4
Caster: Max
Toe: .10 each (.20 total)

Front Sway:
1.25" solid Gendron Bar, 3/6 stiff.

Wheels:
OZ Allegeritas

Brakes:
EBC OE Replacement Pads/Rotors

Let me know if I missed anything.

My car has had some misc suspension issues which have just recently been addressed. I'll do my best to contribute to this thread as necessary.

I'll see you there. Not set on what Jason and I will be testing but we are discussing tire options both sizing and brand. we will likely test at the college station site pre nationals and derive some conclusions there but O.P.R. is obviously a factor with a Thursday Friday A-street run days. I will share any findings we may have, unless we stumble on teh holy grail, then I'll tell you in October :-)

Well I pretty much sucked at the TX pro. The car worked best Saturday morning, unfortunately I was extremely hung over Saturday and didn't make good use of the cars pace. Jason cone'd away runs that would have put him .5 behind Vivek and he lost a great run to a timing computer error as well. Vivek was also on a roll all weekend and deserves big credit for the stomping he put on us. I've never done well at that site for some reason, probably all the free beer

It wasn't all bad, I did feel that the car launches pretty damn good and Vivek wasn't killing us off the line, just a few other spots

Here is a little comparison video of the launches. Granted, the grip on this site is far less than Lincoln but I was still impressed with the drag racing skills of the CR.

We don't have 255's up front, only out back. 225's up front for now

I'm done with National events until the Finale and Nationals in September. After running the Wilmington ProSolo, this is what I would strongly consider testing if I had a chance to run the Tour or a T&T on concrete.
  • Go back to 4/6 on the Monster bar
  • Reduce rear toe-in to 1/16"

I was unlocking the Torsen big time in fast sweepers and quicker transitions such that I had to be super careful getting back on throttle or get tossed off line. That makes sense to me as a 255 square Bridgestone setup is conceptually the same as my BS days with 275 square Hoosiers. Other than the current bar setting and tires, my setup is the same as what I ran at Nationals last year. My video from the event:

As another data point, I weighed 2733 on the Wilmington scales with nearly a full tank of gas (so, minus whatever was used after 16 runs on Saturday).

Sorry Todd, I missed this one.

I don't have any good pictures handy, but here's one of my codriver at Lake Toledo.

It behaves exactly like 275 Hoosiers, fit-wise. A touch of rubbing on the liner and it eats the clips/pins like Cookie Monster. It also sucks to mount up.

How do you know you were unlocking the torsen?

It was audible from the driver's seat and the rear end would kick out. Had the same problem in the final corner before the finish at the NJ ProSolo, but it was a slow corner, so nothing beyond the inside wheel slip.
