Default Street tyres

I live in a country where it rains a few days a year, but boy, when it rains, it pours! Anyway. I was thinking of full tread Toyo RA-1s.

I can use them as street tyres that will provide feel and grip and that will also be competitive when I autocross in 4 months time.

Your views would be greatly appreciated.

If you are willing to go up to a 17in wheel, look into the new Falken Azenis RT-615. Great grip cold, wet or dry.

How do the new Azenis do in standing water? I'd imagine not so good since they don't seem to have significant water channels. I just wonder if they'd be safe.

Also, just how good are they compared to our stock tires that have 140 tread life (RE050's or S02's)?

Would appreciate anyone's experiences.

Very few performance tires do well in standing water. If you find a tire that does well in standing water then you will find that it does not do very well dry.

The new Yokohama Advan Neovas work GREAT in the water, and work pretty darn well in the dry too. Good size availability, a bit pricey though.
