Default Suspension Settings Question

Hi, I have the KW V3 suspension. I've seen many threads about what settings to use, but most seem to talk about the settings in terms of "clicks".

Sorry for the possibly newbie question, but what is a "click" and how does it relate in terms of turns? The rebound only appears to have 3 full turns of adjustment, so I'm guessing somewhere near the middle is where is recommended by KW, but obviously since I don't know what a "click" is I really have no idea for sure...

Thanks.

As you move the dial with the allen key from right to left you should feel tiny "clicks" through your fingers. If you're not then Im not surprised why you're asking this question and your shocks are probably in need of service. lol

Are you talking about rebound or compression? Guessing compression since you said allen key?

I haven't messed with the compression yet. I definitely didn't feel any bumps when adjusting the rebound with the plastic knob though. Am I supposed to?

rebound. As you turn your dial you should feel it set into place and feel like it clicked in every few mm of movement. Im not sure how else to explain it to you. Maybe someone else can chime in, sorry.

So you adjust your rebound with an allen key? Maybe I have an old set then? Mine certainly uses a plastic knob...

Maybe the clicks are there and I just missed them... hm, I guess I'll check again.

Edit: After doing some more research it definitely seems like most people have an allen key slot at the top of their shock that they use to adjust rebound. Mine certainly does NOT. I have a little nub that almost looks like a thicker flathead screwdriver tip. I put a plastic knob over top of that to adjust rebound.

So maybe I have an older model and there are older settings somewhere that use "turns" instead of "clicks"?

Two of my KWV3s are the old version with round plastic knobs and no clicks for the top rebound setting, two of them are the newer version that use a hex key and have clicks. As far as I can tell the settings are the same, just one has clicks. When I document my settings I record both # of clicks and fraction of a turn.

Ok... so what fraction of a turn does a "click" equal to?
