Default Sway Bar adjustment (banging revisted)

First of all this is the gendron bar.
Just got under the car to knock the bar back a couple holes (I know I'm ignoreing the cardinal rule of "never work on your car right before you need it") and I found 2 things while attempting to adjust the bar back.

1st) I could only get the driver side to fit in the hole farther back. The passanger side the bolt was touching the shock and there was no way to get the Nut on the end. So In my mind moving one side back and leaving the other at full stiff is like getting half the adjustment I wanted Correct? Or will it just cause it to be stiffer one way and softer the other way?

2nd) The banging noise returned right after the prosolo. BUT I think i've finally solved it. The Tappered Nuts used between the bar and the Endlink are Crushing. I found mine just about Pinched Flat and what do you know alot of Play in the bolt from the lack of tension. But the odd thing was it was only crushed flat on the Right side. The left side of the car looked good as new. Anyone else experiencing this?

I've had some banging with my bar because what appears to be me not tightening up the bolts enough. If I don't tighten them up enough then over time they will loosen up and I'll get the banging.

I do have some deformation of the spacer washer but it seems symetric to me.

What kind of shocks are you using - I've heard of some issues with some shocks and the bar - I think someone (McKee?) might have had to alter the bar's blades (made thinner) in that area and that solved the problem.

I'm going to Bill's tomorrow to have some work done on the car including the new endlinks that he's offering which can handle greater angularity, are stronger (I broke an end-link ~2 years ago on the softest setting - which might be softer than you have as my bar is the original Gendron bar and Bill has since removed some of the adjustability to prevent this) and removed some (or all) of the spacer washers.

I'll give a report and maybe pictures if anybody want next week - let me know.

Sorry to go off-topic but I was wondering where I can get new endlinks. I have the Mugen bar and would like to replace the stock endlinks.

Thanks

I wonder if Bill would sell his separately for those without his bar?

Check out Speedway Engineering at http://www.1speedway.com/Swaybar_Arms.htm. I've never bought from them myself, but I believe the guy who made my bar (SoloVR6) got the endlinks there.
