A "strut" tower bar would probably add negligible stiffness above that provided by that huge box-section beam in front of the engine in the S. That's why in the S a bar is unnecessary (except for looks and added weight) compared to some other cars.

the term strut has basically been used interchangeably with the word shock for a long long time, and there really isn't much difference between the two (even if you have a double wishbone suspension, you'll still hear the term strut bar because thats just what people call them). When people mention strut bars, it's not because they people actually think the car has struts.
OMG are you kidding me. There is a HUGE difference between them and why STB are used on cars with struts. The strut takes the upper half of the load. In a dual wishbone the upper wish bone does this and there is almost no flex

Stop trying to make yourself feel better for wasting the money. See that HUGE box that runs across between the 2 frame rails -that- is where the load path from the upper a-arm is.

Get a clue guys. Stop trying to convince yourself it works because you paid $ for it.

I don't understand why i didn't realise it before? I'm totally agree with you.

I'm sorry for my stupid question about this strut bar.

What do you think about the welded tube between each tower and the bottom side of the engine compartment?

Thanks in advance

I had a Megan STB before i had to take it off due to rubbing against my aftercooler.

I don't know about all these other guys but i could definitely notice a difference with it on.maybe the fact that I'm lowered has something to do with it aswell.

[QUOTE=CwestinAP1,May 20 2007, 01:25 PM] what i'm saying is that the term is strut is used for both cars with shocks and with struts, by numerous people, and the people who use it know that the car doesn't have struts. thats just how it is. i'm not the only one that will refer to it as a strut bar, there are tons of other people.
