I have some ~7 year old Colbalt Spec VR brake pads from my '02 S2000, and am considering trying them out on my '08. However, I'm not sure if that would be a good idea. Do you think they can be trusted, or would it be dangerous to try them?

 

I don't think there would be a problem with older, not used brake pads? I don't know for sure but I can see it being a problem. I have used pads that were ~3 years old with no issues.

 

I guess I should add that they may be older than 7 years, but they were last used on a track 7 years ago.

 

Only one way to find out! Just take it easy at first and bring a back up set in case you need to do a quick swap.
